November 12-29, 2009, Betsy will be appearing in her second show by Trav S.D., KITSCH, at the Theatre for the New City in NYC. Just in time for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, come see Betsy try her hand at a German accent!
WILLY NILLY won an extension in FringeNYC's 2009 Encore Series. Playing into September Off-Broadway at the Actors Playhouse in Greenwich Village, the show was a hit with audiences and critics alike!
"WILLY NILLY... a raucous rock musical inspired by the Manson murders that includes a severed limb, a simulated blow job and enough gyrating skin to satisfy any theatrical voyeur."
THE NEW YORK TIMES
"With crazy music, a twist on a dream ballet you have to see to believe, and plenty of double entendre, this is a show that truly lives on the Fringe."
PRODUCER, MICHAEL RODERICK
"a tastily eccentric 'psychedelic-atessen"

In August 2009, Betsy made her FringeNYC debut playing Sharon Tate and a deranged cult member in Piper Mackenzie's production of WILLY NILLY: A Musical About the Most Far-Out Cult Murders of the Psychedelic Era. Macabre? Maybe. Fun? For sure!
In February 2009, Betsy played a hipster make-up artist in Co-op Theatre East's V-Day Benefit Performance of A MEMORY, A MONOLOGUE, A RANT AND A PRAYER: Writings To Stop Violence Against Women and Girls at the Gene Frankel Theatre in NYC.
Betsy kicked off the year by performing in PHILIP GLASS BUYS A LOAF OF BREAD, produced by Nicolas Reeves at The Tank. Who would have guessed buying bread could be so avant-garde?!
Far from NYC, Betsy ventured to Chenango River Theatre in Greene, NY to perform in CRIMES OF THE HEART from October 10-November 2, 2007. She played Chick, a gossiping Southern housewife whose chatty ways threaten to tear apart a close-knit group of sisters.
"A real standout is Betsy Head's Chick, a snooty cousin of the McGrath girls who plays up the Southern Belle card to mask her inner bitch. Her portrayal, exaggerated accent and all, reminded me of Carol Burnett as Eunice in those old "Mama's Family" skits. She’s a joy to watch, especially when Lenny’s finally had enough and chases her out with a broom!"
EVENING SUN
Betsy played Gloria Quackenbush, a virgin who wanders the woods at night in search of "naughty rascals," (as well as 4 whores and the World's Smallest Woman) in e.e. Cummings' vaudevillian epic, HIM.
The play was at Soho Rep's Walkerspace from September 4-13, 2008 at 7:30pm.
From January 21-February 10, 2008, Betsy appeared in Dylan Thomas' UNDER MILK WOOD, produced by the Intimation Theatre Company at Theatre 3 (311 W. 43rd St., NYC). His ambitious play tells of the lives of a number of colorful characters living in a small Welsh town.
Betsy got rave reviews in her most recent production, UNDER MILK WOOD:
"Standout Betsy Head has a firm handle on the complex sensuality of town slut Polly Garter as well as giving a comically grotesque turn as Mrs. Dai Bread One."
BROADWAY WORLD
"Betsy Head is charmingly seductive as the singing, scrubbing Polly Garter."

Look for the pilot of INSIDE DESIGN with Genevieve Gorder (and Betsy!) coming soon to HGTV...
Betsy wrote and produced THE AUDITION. During its two NYC runs, THE AUDITION involved over 200 actors. THE NEW YORK TIMES described the show: "The concept is simple- each night a different set of 11 New York actors auditions for a panel of directors and a theatre full of people, who vote for their favorite performers. In the first act, the actors present prepared monologues. In the second, those who are called back perform cold reading."
The show received a ton of publicity and reviews! Read more:
"An excellent primer in how to land a role."
